Pour ce faire, il traque leurs transits, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire les l\u00e9g\u00e8res baisses de luminosit\u00e9 provoqu\u00e9es par les passage des plan\u00e8tes devant leur \u00e9toile. L\u2019une des plan\u00e8tes d\u00e9tect\u00e9es autour de l\u2019\u00e9toile KOI-872 a intrigu\u00e9 les astronomes\u00a0: alors qu\u2019elle devrait passer devant l\u2019astre avec la r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 d\u2019un m\u00e9tronome \u00e0 chaque r\u00e9volution, sa p\u00e9riode de transit montre d&rsquo;importantes variations. Une \u00e9quipe men\u00e9e par David Nesvorny, de l\u2019Institut de recherche Southwest, aux \u00c9tats-Unis, a analys\u00e9 ces perturbations et montr\u00e9 qu\u2019elles sont dues \u00e0 l\u2019influence gravitationnelle d\u2019une deuxi\u00e8me plan\u00e8te.<\/p>\n<p>  <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Celle-ci ferait environ la masse de Saturne et tournerait autour de KOI-872 en 57 jours.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois qu\u2019on d\u00e9tecte une exoplan\u00e8te gr\u00e2ce aux perturbations qu\u2019elle exerce sur une voisine \u2013 elle-m\u00eame n&rsquo;est pas d\u00e9celable par transit, car elle ne passe pas devant le disque de son \u00e9toile. En revanche, cette m\u00e9thode a d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 appliqu\u00e9e dans le Syst\u00e8me solaire\u00a0: il y a plus de 150 ans, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pourlascience.fr\/ewb_pages\/f\/fiche-article-l-affaire-de-la-planete-volee-20526.php\">l\u2019astronome fran\u00e7ais Urbain Le Verrier a pr\u00e9dit l\u2019existence et la position de Neptune<\/a> \u00e0 partir de l\u00e9g\u00e8res irr\u00e9gularit\u00e9s du mouvement d\u2019Uranus. Il a ensuite communiqu\u00e9 ses r\u00e9sultats \u00e0 Johann Gall, de l\u2019Observatoire de Berlin, qui a effectivement observ\u00e9 la g\u00e9ante bleue au
